Hello guys, we will be switching hosts and upgrading to a $1000/month server around the beginning of the next week.

This will once and for all solve our current issues reguarding HGF and eFukt.

If HGF continues to lag, we will hire a IPB tech to resolve the issue.

Just hold up for a bit, we'll be moved on Tuesday or Wednesday.

Right now were on 2 $150 a month servers. I believe its so laggy today due to network maintenance, but fuck it, I'm done with this shit.

It was getting huge, but due to this lag it's fucking everything up. It's unacceptable.

The only thing I know for sure is that we're getting a dedicated 50mbit port. This means we have a guaranteed flow of 50mbps outbound transfer 24/7. I cant remember, but I think it might be burstable bandwidth as well, to handle surges in traffic.

The server will most likely be a dual xeon with a load of add-ons.

Weak at that price you would be better of buying your own server. Providing gaz gets his connection back there will be no problems.

that's a little overkill in my opinion but at least you wont have to upgrade again anytime soon. I got a server recently and it's pretty bad ass, expensive at first but about $200 of the cost was 1 time fees.

Colocation? How is that better? In his own words G said that colocation is the biggest waste of money you could possibly spend on hosting.

No offense but how would you know whats overkill and whats not? How much bandwidth does your server have? What type of port are you?

If you expect to get any real amount of traffic your server will be fried in a weak. You got a lot to learn man, and if you dont do it right the first time you'll have wasted a fuckload of money on shit that is useless for you.

nope, buying your own server you have to pay monthly for the slot and to be connected to the net. You save next to nothing, and you have manage it entirely your self.

Not sure man. I really have no idea how much colocation cost.

Yeah the bandwidth is unmetered, but its capped at 50mbps. The line were on right now is capped at 10mbps, so its 5x more outbound transfer.
