Claim to fame

Which group do you think will have the easiest route to fame? Whether it be based on their talents as a group or the way they handle business?

Name a group (they can be dead) and name what they have/had which could/would have elevated them to the highest ranks.

WEAK SISTER has some things that could make it very famous, location, equipment and online industries, but the lack of members destrays that.

DR have good solid members, all very experienced in their own things, making a very good group, I have high expectations for your dvd boys.

RETARDZ.. although me and web had a few arguements at the start, I still think they are very good and have an easy route to fame through footage and connections.

DR - They have a great image and along with the editing and footage for me they have the most chance of being picked up. Since meeting up with Webby they seem to have got harder too.

B-I - Loads of clips and everyone seems like they work for the group as much as they can.

DanG - I think just him alone could make it because of how sick he is. He is also a really funny guy in some vids and with his editing if heever did make it people would love his videos straight away.

Retardz: Webby has and probally will continue to get attention from the media, definitely not in a good way though, unless you like being known as a die hard star wars fan

Despro: they'll eventually accidently kill someone in one of there pranks and go down hard for it, again...not type of the attention you want.

Definitely not BI. They have talent, but so do a million other amatuer filmmakers. Skit making is all too common and there really is nothing to be regonized by. Homegrown is a tight niche that is extremely controversial. Skits aren't.

I kind of agree with him. NMV have the whole wrestling/HG thing goingand there quite abit older. If any group was to make it TV would like everyone to be abit older them most are here.

Also they seem to have no limits from what I have seen. Only thing I never liked much was the editing.

It all depends WEAK. If you come here everyone and watch all the groups then maybe your right as there are some hardcore filmers. But alot if not most of the public dont even know what home grown is.

And is home grown just stunts? I dont know but I dont think it has just a type of filming that is home grown. I think BI are just a funny HG group with some great members. But maybe as there not in HGF there not homegrown anymore? lol

They know the content, they just dont know the term homegrown, as homegrown just means something done at home. The general public is well aware of what Jackass and Bumfights are and they know what happens when you give rowdy teeangers video cameras.

and I expected a dumbass remark from you reguarding BI not being on HGF. I dont let petty e-fights affect my judgement or create bias in my opinion. I honestly don't think BI will ever gain any form of fame for their skits.

To me homegrown is a derivative of underground filmmaking, focusing on extreme acts and/or events, all of which are real and not staged. There are 2 branches of homegrown, one being inspired by Jackass and CKY, the other being inspired by Bumfights and Indecline.

I think their's a difference between how good a group is, and how famous they could come from it.

Retardz and DR, two of the best stunt groups in the HG scene, and I don't think they'll become famous from it because I don't think that's in the intentions of the members. I don't think they set out to do what they do to achieve fame.

However, groups like NMV and BI are more likely because they seem to be in someway more professional in what they do, and I could see TV shows looking to use certain stuff of theirs.

Only reason I made the comment was because you said that BI was not homegrown... Why? its about who you think will make it... 1000s wont so why pick out BI? Thats why I made a comment on it.

I picked out BI because someone mentioned they were the most likely to gain fame from what they do, and I disagreed. I was responding to someones comment. I already explained why. I dont think there is any fame to gain from making skits.

Read my post over man. Notice that the people I picked out and the reason I chose them. No one in homegrown is gonna get famous, and if they do it's going to be because of a serious crime or accident. That was my point.

No Mercy and Dan G are the only guys I can see gaining some form of positive fame for what they do because theyre extreme and consistent in what they do, and the theme they've established (self inflicted pain) is very popular on the net.

I can tell you that if I ever get any attention for what I do, it's not gonna be at a fuckin award ceremony. It's gonna be in the newspaper under obituaries because sooner or later one of these cracked out black bums is gonna shank me

me honestly. (I do my own thing on the side besides BI)
ive been arrested, assualted, banned/kicked, charged, chased, detained, and only god knows how many times my cameras been smacked. for me its all about footage/ filming and ive been filming shit constantly for almost 2 years.
whether or not ill be rich or famous I dont know, but im making one hell of a film and its bound to make some waves.

Muppets - see above, but they've gotten lazy the last year and not filmed or edited the DVD.

NMV - got a strong fanbase, leroy has apeard in alot of things. next DVD will sell well.

SPDST - if vol 2 ever comes out its gunna hit with a bang

Ryan 13 v Dan-G - see above but bigger due to riding the SPDST waves

TPM - an hour of firework stunts going bang, a scream, bang again....thats just awesome lol j/k

LSD - already making some noise and already going to get a big push by indecline for there next DVD.

thats ALLL the groups whos got a chance of making it past the whole 'net vid' level IF they put the effort in and do it right.

What happened with production of it? Are they still editing?

I quess you know the reasons too. They'r on almost every video site and their stunts are insane.

anyone wanna gimme some tips?

LSD Riders - Their DVD was awesome, inspires me to film. With the new prospects of working with Indecline they could go far.

Retardz - One of the best stunt groups around, I'm sure the DVD will be big.

Weaksister - Weak has been filming for so long and he's got a lot of priceless footage under his belt. I'm sure he'll make it big from Weaksister/shooting porn or something.

Muppets - If they got their arses into gear they could pull off something big also.

NMV - Pull off something sweet every now and then, lots of clips around the net - could do well for themselves.

All Balls - I love these guys, I think they could make a sweet DVD if they put their minds to it.

SPDST - These guys take their stunts seriously and have some hardcore stuff. Sure the second DVD will sell well.

Rip/Off - I think they're going to be the next big thing in Finland. The new dudesons.

Dan G- Hes like steve-o but hes more sexy.

I think the publicity that NMV get already is enough to develop into something alot bigger. But I think their website needs to be sorted out a bit <3
