Ground Breaking News on the PS3

ok Just got my new Official Us Playstation Magazine and my PSM magazine and there has been some awesome news.

The launch date is set for November 2006



Launch games and Prices of the console have yet to be announced



The delay from spring to November was caused by Problems with the Blu-ray technology.



The target Production capacity is of 1 millian units per month with 6 million unites produced by March 2007



also by reading this article it appears that the games will not be region coded which im 99% sure that means that (for example) People in the US can play Japanese only games on there systems



also 1million units for the first month WORLDWIDE is not alot lets just say ps3 will be harder to get then the xbox 360

The online system will be named Playstation Network Platform

Games can boot off the Hardrive making digital distribution possible

Basic service is free for online but no details are released upon a priced version

Players can upload and download game data

A universal login similar to Xbox 360

Online only content downloads will be available for a micropayment transaction

2.5 inch Hard drive

Not yet mentioned whether it is a stand alone or a built in harddrive

60 gb harddrive ....... Will be upgradable....and has linux standardly installed

Game developers are being told that all games must require HDD

Well.. for me cause I knew that weeks ago

man, I just got a brand new ps2 controller. fuck the ps3. I made my decsion 2 stick to ps2, once I seen the ps3 controllers. fuck boomerangs. then again, everything could have changed I havent looked into ps3 for like a year now. oh well, I dont care about ps3 or xbox360, what ever...

Fuck this shit, I'm happy with my PS1.

do you have nhl: rock the rink?? man that was a sweet game. fuckin get into fights and piledrive your oppenent to finish him off. or umm, crash bandicoot 2...fuck rip off couldnt get passed the 4th world.

I also just read ( and I wasnt sure but this confirmed it) that they are in a war over the Next gen dvd....

Sony is backing the Blu ray technology....while Microsoft is backing the HD-dvd

Supposedly next gen dvd players will cost a good buck and PS3 MIGHT ACTUALLY BE the cheapest next gen dvd player out there

The xbox 360 doesnt use HD-dvd but Microsoft could make a add-on
