Does anyone have any good tips or advice on how to get people to join a forum? I have one and its impossiable to get someone to join it.

Start out with just your friends and have something to draw attention and make people want to join.

Forums are VERY difficualt to get popular, believe me. I tried and failed.
You need a main attraction, if your forum is based on music.... shut it down now

Forums are real hard to get working. The big problem is if it is not active and people look at it there not going to stay.. so it needsto be active within the first week of it opening really.
You also need something that only your forum can give.... And you need it to have a subject that will not die within the first month as everything will have been talked about.
Its one of the strangest things about the net... some forums just twork... some dont no matter how good the idea is.

tell all your friends...get on aim or msn and tell EVERYONE...then just sit back and hope...I helped start another forum back in August and it is just now getting a decent amount of hits...it took a good 5 months to get the 100...so it will take a while...whats the topic?
