A strange meteor lands outside of the quiet, rural town of Wheely and something alien crawls out - first taking over the body of the wealthy-but-unfortunately-named Grant Grant (Michael Rooker) and from there very quickly the rest of the town. Soon only the town sheriff (Nathan Fillion) and Grant's wife (Elizabeth Banks) are left to stop the parasite from spreading to the rest of the world, if they survive the night.

so I just got back from watching this movie and it's so hilarious. funniest movie I've seen so far this year. Fillion is a great actor and I actually believe it's him who made this movie so funny.

althought it's not a typical horror, in fact it's more of a comedy. it reminded me a little of a mixture between dawn of the dead and war of the worlds. not a great combination, but too much of a similarity in the slug controlled humans to the movement of the zombies in dawn of the dead and where the slugs came from to war of the worlds, since it was aliens taking over the world, therefor they had the same ambitions.

The monster effects aren't the best either. The main creature design doesn't seem to have a well thought-out concept behind it and the digital work on the slugs is uneven, but all and all if you're looking for a quick sense of entertainment and humor, then see this. but look elsewhere if you're a hardcore horror fan on the look for a great film.

I think its stupid as fuck. so im not even going 2 bother watching it...the only part that seemed cool is when the chick there is super huge and round. I would have rolled her down a big as hill with tacks at the bottom, and high-voltage wire.

I'd give it a 4 out of 5. I don't normally like horror comedies. I went to see it because I thought it was going to be shit, but I was surprised. and yeah there are many disgusting but hilarious parts

Yeah, adem told me before I went to see it that it wasn't a horror movie, and it's really not. But it's not that bad.
