Due to my previous camcorder breaking I'm having to buy a new one.
I'm not going for a top of the range camera like last time but selected these two.
I don't come here often for help but know you guys can assist me here.
Which cam is better overall and
not just by how it looksThis canon oneOr

Nothing so much, they both have 800kp but the sony has 1mp and is perfect if you are looking for a nice little camera.

Audio is not perfect in strong wind (this is only harsh winds)

ya can't go wrong with a canon because they have the best lenses so pretty much canon cams are an overall good cam.
