Grammar Lesson

Ok when typing here people are requested to look back at what they type and correct any gramatical errors. There are some things that really piss me off and I figured if I write a thread explaining what these words mean and how to use them then people will have no excuse for being idiots. I honestly don't mind when there's an odd mistake or when people talk in text talk sometimes but this really fucks me off. Groups of words that sound the same but mean different things when they are written down and the use of apostrophys.

1.

They're = Means they are (and only that) as in... " They're a shit group "
Their = When saying something is someone elses as in... " That is their hotdog. "
There = A place or direction as in... " Go over there... Don't post that there "

2.

You = Pretty self explanatory as in... " You suck. "
Your = Saying something belongs to the person you're talking to as in... " Your phone is ringing "
You're = Means you are as in... " You're a moron "

Use of apostrophys

There is no need to put an ' before an S in words that end in S unless you are saying something belongs to someone. So for instance you wouldn't say:
" They are all using Mac's. " You would simply need to say macs...

If you are saying that belongs to someone. You would put an apostrophy before the s. For instance:
" mono's hair is very sexy. " The fact that the apostrophy is there shows that it is mono's hair. Simple no?

Finally, if the person who's name you are saying ends in an S already you do not add and S on the end which is common sense really. So you wouldn't say:

"That is Jesuss or Jesuses..."

You just put an apostrophy at the end of the person's name, like so:

" That is Jesus' "





And there you have it now there is no excuse for you not to spell things correctly. There are probably mistakes in parts of this. Don't point them out to me because I don't give a fuck... Thank you very much
