I Need a New Cam

I cant even use the cam I have now as my dad is holding it hostage, the only way I can use it is when I actually go too he's house, soo I'd rather just buy a new one, I've had it years anyways.

I dont have a clue what too look for really, but I wan't a Mini DV camcorder basically.

Hopefully, we should be filming again soon.. we usually film in the woods or backyards.. which are usually surrounded by trees, soo I need a cam which works really well in low/crap light, plus, in england we don't have a sun soo...

Also I definetly need a colour viewfinder, I use the viewfinder alot and thats it really.
Oh, I'd like the best video quality as possible, obviously, and pretty much all the basic ports my old one had, but if theres more features, obviously.... better!

So can anyone recommend me a few cams? please.

I guess my budget at the very most is; £600... which is around $1048.
So, this should be fine, shouldn't it?

Mainly I just need the things listed above..
Is there anything else I should look for?

Well, the cam at my dads is a TRV22E, soo I'd rather try something different really, good cams though.

The GS400 and the DVC30 both look awesome, I just briefly read through the reviews and they seem very equal, but I think there a bit too much out of my price range

I really can't spend that much, but would it really be worth it? I won't be able too buy anything else for a long time though.

I'm looking at the GS250, I might get that, it's around $800 soo not too bad.

So, what should I do.. buy the GS250 and save the cash? or buy either a GS400 or a DVC30?... but thats it, the next time I will have any money will be around christmas really..
Or, anymore recommendations??

I'm stuck between choosing a Panasonic GS400 or a DVC30, or, I can save some cash and buy a GS250.. are there any flaws on this cam??

Canon GL1's are pretty cheap and still really good.

dvc30 the best one you can get for sure

weak will tell you that aswell

pretty much any camera is good quality that is 3CCD, so I would just look for that.

If you're deciding between gs400 and DVC30, get the DVC30.

Yeah, I wan't the DVC30 sooo bad, but I just can't afford it.

I think I'm going too try and get the GS250.. but it is a little pricey still, I don't need anything special anyways. Although I wanna know what Weak thinks of the Sony DCR-HC96 Image file not present in the recovered backup
