Just a test I did to see the qualty of the wmv when converted from HD, basicaly the pixel size for HD is 1.333 and for wmv its 1 (square) so I wasnt sure about the outcome but it turned out pretty good. the vid is encded @ 3mbps so I could see the quality but its only 20mb and 59 sec long.. watch it if you want to see what the sony HC1 puts out..
ps... excuse the music... its the first mp3 I grabbed lol..

Yeah its the same cam.
It appears to film in widescreen. I never got to upload any footage, is this gonna fuck up when I edit the DVD because my cam (and all old DR footage) is in 16:4 format?

I had to change it to wide screen.. but if you swiched it to HD then it must be wide screen.. you have to go into the menu and select both options otherwise it will film in 4:3 and normal dv..

Now that my monitor is clean....
that footage looks great. You should actually film a real video with that. Imagine how the quality would add to your vids.

hey I dunno but dude me and T0M just got back from like madd shops and whoever Says that he should of got a 3ccd is horseshit because 3ccd refers to the fact taht theres 3 different memory chips for each color instead of all on one but HIgh Def is unbelievable and jsut as good it really all matters on the type of computer your using to beef up the video and what you use to edit with/compress with......so really Brent had a really nice buy and he bought the least expensive HD camera on the market.......SO GOOD BUY BRENT! T0M is JEaLOUS!! lol

But that camera is around 2,000, which is more than a lot of 3CCD cameras that still have a lot of features that camera doesn't have.
Not saying it's a bad camera, just that it's not better than older 3CCD cams in all aspects.

Ive never paid for anything.. this is a free loner untill I get my $7000 HD cam but thanks.. it really is a great cam

this camera is like 1000 now cuz its discontinued but still... I diddnt pay for it.. my mom works for sony ...

Surely you didnt actually import HD quality in the first place cos you need a HD card or something like that for your comp which cost like a grand, which I pressume u dont have?

yeah WHICH IS why I said that your video is only as good as the system your using to show it off (computer, dvd player, tv) and there are plenty of HD cameras out there for 5 grand
Your mom works for sony?? thats fuckin awesome man...and that hd is discontinued?? hmmm wonder if its the exact same model tom and I were looking at.
