Rune scape sucks bollocks. Truly.
Get guild wars, long game, massive, free and really easy to use. Need quite a good pc to run it though.

there's a couple I know of:

Mu Online does a 1500 hour free trial, that's a pretty good game...a bit cartoony but plays nice.

I think you can download Anarchy Online for free as well, you don't get all the expansion packs but it's still playable. that's a fairly old sci-fi RPG with loads of character creation options.

GuildWars ownz. When I have spare time I always play it.... It takes awhile to get used too but once you start the missions you get hooked.... also its updated all the time!

And the gfx rock. last time I played I was looking into the sea and you can see things like sharks and fish swimming... looks damn real.

once you buy it its free forever.... It cost me £20 to buy so it will work out cheap in US. Also you can buy Keys online but the box is better as you get maps and books with it...

But if you do tell me and ill add you to my guild.... get you some nice things to get you started ;)

I'd play it if I had a better gfx card, my radeon fried because I moved it around and didn't have it pressed in good enough.

oh and nuggeto, what are the system reqs for those two you mentioned? I wanna play silkroad, I just have a voodoo graphics card haha. I never play games.

I didn't want to go buy anything, but if it comes down to it I guess I could. Screenshots?
