a little help please?

ok, so Im trying to install this software, but when I do, this comes up:

External image not preserved — inspect source: http://img106.imageshack.us/img106/1723/14ro2.jpg
(the same thing happens when I try to install Java and Limewire Pro.)

I guess it is trying to install on local dick F, but my other hard drive is local disk G.

F, is my external cd/dvd burner, and it only shows up when the actual burner is turned on.


hope you guys understand my problem, and could someone please tell me how to fix it?

Is it from a disc or downloaded?

The only thing I could think it would be is it trying to extract setup files to that specified drive... but assuming the .exe was saved on another drive I can't imagine what the problem would be.

yeah, that's what I don't get. if the exe file is on one hard drive, shouldn't it try to install it on that same hard drive?

stupid computers.

If the file your running was taken originally from a cd, then when you install it, it might check for more files on the cd so thats why its picking up on your cd drive

Is your cd/dvd drive working fine? Make sure all the files are extracting to the local disc .. I dont know why your hard drive is drive g :S

Actually yeah, the file likely was taken right from a disc so the computer is searching to install from the disc drive as a default thing.

yeah but if hes having the smae problem with limewire that cant be the case, because limewire doesnt come on disc

well my main hard drive is C, which came with the computer. when I had my other hard drive hooked up externally, it was F. but, then one day lighting hit it, and fried the box, so now I have it hooked up internally. when I hooked it up, my cd/dvd burner was on, so it took the next letter, (F). then when I hooked up the hard drive, it took the next letter, which is G.

If I were you, if you've got all the drivers and all your programs on CDs, move all your files onto your external and reformat.

damn...I don't want to do that. it's not THAT big of a deal, so that will be a last resort kind of thing.







anyone else have any ideas?
