Blending help

Im working on a new piece and I've got a planet im blending in, I got the dark side blended fine, but I cant seem to get the light side looking like it's meant to be there, I've used the dodge and burn tool and it's not working, any other ideas?

Yer I tried but it just made it look opaque, unless you mean something else?

you made a layer mask and used a gradient from white to black, when the layer mask was selected?

what? layer mask is like for getting rid of areas and stuff right?

yeah but you can use gradients to transition from there to not there, it works well for blending things together! :)
