Yes, Sony has just announced the release of single-layer BD-R ($30) and BR-RE ($36) this month in Europe. Discs run at 2x speeds and have a data transfer rate of 72Mbps.

Read about these ages ago on shoutwire.
I cant wait for the Holographic disks coming out that can store up to a TB. And there cheap as fuck to make.
