I just want to say that today was my first real day back in Weak Sister mode. Since living in LA, I have NOT ONCE gone out and about filming shit. But because I finally got a decent camera last week, I decided the time was now.

I admit I was rather nervous. Downtown is a scary fucking place. It took awhile to work myself up to do this, but I fucking did it, AND THE FOOTAGE IS FUCKING GOLD!

It was this fucking black guy on the corner. He wakes me up every so often with his fucking crackhead chatter. He never fucking shuts up. I decided to give him a taste of his own medicine so I started annoying the shit out of him.

He started to get a bit frisky but I only got closer to him. It took about 10 minutes, but I finally got him to go back home. This footage is so fucking hilarious, I dont want to give to much away, but I'll be releasing a promo of it tonight. The rest will air on eFukt.

This guy is local and I plan on fucking with him a lot. Honestly, I was straight up asking for this dude to smack the camera out of my hand and hit me the face but I didnt care. He had a chair in his hand, I had a skateboard in mind. I'd fucking love to have a go at this piece of shit.

Sorry for the lack of substance in this thread, but this was actually a big accomplishment for me. Filming solo isn't easy. It's not even that fun. But I realize that this is what I gotta do if I don't want Weak Sister to die. This one was for the fans :D

NOTE: The promo for this will be first released on the Weak Sisters site so if you really wanna see it go there later on today.

Yates, that is an untouched screenshot from footage I filmed with the DVC30. That's the kinda quality you can expect. Pretty good in my opinion.

There used to be about 10. Basically 5 werent really loyal and they all drifted away over time. As for the others, one went to jail for some shit we did, another went into the Navy, and the last one (layhe) is still down to film but lives 2 hours away.

would you say the DVC30 kicks the shit out of the TRV900 or is it pretty close because they have the same size chips?

The lens is great. It's called a Leica Dicomar. Here is some info on it -

Yates, youre gonna love this cam. You can program custom settings and everything. It even has a 1 touch hyper zoom that you can program. I have so much shit to learn how to use....this thing has LOADS of features. It's a fun cam. It has these guages and everything for centering and zoom.

Wilbur, no I definitely wouldnt say the DVC30 kicks the shit out of the TRV900. The TRV900 has better low-light performance and slightly more vibrant colors when both compared in AUTO mode. However, I believe that in manual mode you can program the DVC30 to do just as well. You just need to adjust the gain and set it to the appropriate shooting conditions.

The DVC30 holds it ground because of its fucking AWESOME nightshot feature, solid magnesium body, its compact design. The TRV900 is VERY bulky and lacks a handle bar which I personally find to be a great tool.

Theyre both great cameras, and I have a hard time choosing which is better. It depends a lot on what features you need. I prefer the DVC30 and feel that is has much better value. The TRV900 new was around $1700 when they were in production, which is very over priced.

You wont be dissapointed with the DVC30 Wilbur. I only reccomend the TRV900 on the basis that you are limited to a $1000 budget and can find a decent deal on a used one. Otherwise fuck it.

Yates has already ordered one, and Adrian plans on doing so as well. Join us bro.

I should have enough money for it around late April, so I'll probably go for the DVC30 now that I know it's so good.

Does it still make that weird clunking noise you were talking about?

Actually I have great news. I did some research on that and I found that its COMPLETELY normal. It's because of the optical stabilizer. When the power is off, it loosens. It explains this is in the manual, but you can see here as well thats its totally normal.

One last question, how does the sound compare to other cameras?

Actually on the DVC30 message boards I've noticed many people complain about the sound. I personally havent noticed anything wrong with it. I wouldnt be surprised if it isnt as good as the audio on a vx2100 but it's not really a big deal. I've only tested it out a few times but the audio seemed perfectly find to me. You can judge for yourself in the clip I post tomorrow though.

Also, you can very easily upgrade mics for very cheap. The camera has a XLR Audio input module, something the vx2100 doesnt even have as far as I know. So you can hook up a professional mic. like this for only about a $100

The lens is very well reviewed, but I'm not sure what you mean by badass. Its just a very high quality lens. You can easily add a wide angle lens to it. I plan on doing so.

Wilbur & Yates, you guys are going to love this camera. It is loaded with some many professional features its crazy. For example, the camera has a focus ring and you can asign it to also work as a zoom ring and or gain + iris ring.

Also, it has a professional audio guage on the LCD screen for channel 1 & 2. Also it has this weird guage for the zoom and also for the angle that youre holding the camera at I think.

btw the wilbur, I played around with the gain and its very good. You can even adjust the gain for nightvision mode.
