I got a pm about this thread last week so this shit is late but fuck it:

the reason you don't get anything when you try to boot from cd's is because the bios isn't set for that. when you first turn the thing on press F1 or DEL or ESC until you get into the bios. go into the general options and then there should be a thing called boot device priority, you can then make the cd-rom the first device, and then it will read a windows cd or boot cd. when your in the general part you can also see what devices are detected and see if your hard drive is listed, if the drive doesnt show up then its either not plugged in or dead.

the easiest fix is to pull the hard drive and put it in as a slave in another computer, then check it from there. if the drive works fine then you've got other problems, but chances are the drive could be fried if nothing can read it.

fail to load os is a hard drive problem though, there's either nothing on the drive that can be read or the drive is not responding.

I press F8 or f9, f1 doesnt work for me, but ye, you have to change the boot setup in your bios options, I had the same problem like 2 yearrs ago where I tried reinstalling 1 of my Os's but it woudlnt let me,ccuz emy first option was boot from A:
