Ok, some of you may have heard about me going on about how shit the council have decided to run things for th youth here and how they fucked up the skatepark. They are sorting it out now, They've got these guy from norway that weld ramps and coat it with this resin shit that makes it super good to skate on.

They used to work on world war battleships and stuff and they claim there's nothing they can't make...

The council have got money to spend over three years to get this all in place and it's going to be a slow gradual thing working out the old shit and slowly introducing new better stuff.

This stuff is really hard to damage as there are no nuts and bolts. So is extremely durable, some friends of mine skated a park made out of the stuff in ipplepen and they said it was awesome.

The park is designed to be completely flowing and have endless possibilities for people of all different abilities.

I just thought some of the skaters here would appreciate it, and hope to get some feedback, maybe ideas that you think would make this park better so I can relay it back to the people involved.

I can't skate anymore due to injury but I like to try and help out with as much as I can and try to keep some involvment in the scene so any feedback possitive or negative as long as it's constructive,

They are hoping to put the corner plaza unit (numbered 07) in this summer and slowly bring in the other stuff, if you look at the dimensions as well this stuff is huge, it's gonna fucking rock, theres a more detailed pic of the plaza in there too

here are the blueprints:

(can someone put these in for me so that they show up as you read the post please [mods?] )

looks pretty damn cool dude, the corner plaza is mad!
Doesnt look like there is alot of flow tho, looks like the ramps are just randomly placed around the park, try get each side to have ramps, so you never stop moving as you go around.

It looks good, bit of a small area for so many things though. Hope the council keeps their word, you know what they're like.

The guys have made quite a few parks before and like I said some people round here skated another park made by them and they said that it was fine

Yeah concrete would be mad, but they're looking to get the guys to do the whole lots and they work with this stuff, what do you mean about street plaza stuff, what would you want added to that big corner plaza?

[quote name=nowhere]
Yeh, the first plan is to move it out from where it is now and into the bigger tennis court things nearby which will give it a lot more room, they're gonna add a little bit of new stuff probably cheep but just something tofill the space, and over the three years slowly remove that shitty eibe stuff and bring in the new stuff

Another good point about the material and the way it's made is because all it needs is another coat of resin once a year, the stuff itself is so hard to damage, and there are limitles possibilities as to what can be made or put into the designs. They basically got people together and said what do you want and drew it up, they're gonna give the council some probs too because they said if the council wont provide the money for what we want then they're not gonna make it half assed so hopefully the council will look at the sittuation round here and try and sort it out with this a bit :D

Where's the funding for this coming from? I remember that being a problem last time.

The council said they can provide up to 90k or something over the three years which is great if it all comes through, I think then maybe sponsorship or fundraising or something if more money is needed , dont know much about the funding though to be honest.

Would bring Sie's business up so much though :D

By 'street plaza' stuff, I mean like the parks they make in the U.S. that don't have tranny, they just emulate street spots. Basically it's full of stairs, ledges, handrails etc. That's what I would want.
