Premier is new to me. Every aspect of it.
I made a clip and it has a black border around it. How do I get rid of the black border?

Do you mean the clips to small for the box so it looks like it has a border, If so they alll you have to do is re - size the clip so it fits the little box at the top.

Is there a way that I can change the dimensions of the clip when exporting it? Or do I have to do that before exporting it...

You have to do it before exporting it .. But I had the same problem I think it does it when your trying to edit with a low quility wmv clip

I haven't got Premiere installed on this computer so I'm gonna have to do this from memory.
If you're using raw footage from a DV camera, the video size is usually 720 x 576 (I think), so when you make a new project make sure the settings are set to that.
If you want to edit a clip you've found, there's something under File that says Get Properties For... click that then click the video file and it'll say the dimensions. Make a new project with the dimensions set the same size as the video.
Failing that, in the clip properties window, change the scale of it to fit the window.

Im no expert, but is it possible the border is only visible in premier. Try saving it, and opening in a movie player.
Im probably wrong though, no experience with premier.

I did that, and then exported but for some reason the audio to the video was out of sync. Is there a way to get past this new problem?

Adobe software is alot easier to pick up I think. Or is Vegas really straight-forward?

Yeah Premiere is a lot more complicated than Vegas, but in most cases Vegas is just as capable.

I've never had to use any software other than Premiere. You pick things up along the way on how to use it. It's the best fo shuree.
