I dont think its the effect im looking for cos when I do it on a dark background you cant see it, where as on things iv seen it used with u can.

lolz can you say easy?

just copy the text layer and rasterize it, then select the area and new layer and put the lines, then delete the copied layer

add the gradient stuff and its done

the same principals appy

make a new document

3 x 3 transparent background
make it look like this

zoom hella in

O@O
@OO
OO@

use pencil tool to make the @ signs black, in pixel

then edit define pattern

name it


then go into the document

the space you want to fill in

use the filler bucket

change from foreground to pattern

select your pattern. Fill.

Add very slight gradient

if on dark, make whitish or greyish
if on white use grey
if on grey use black or white
if on bright shiny colors use white , sometimes black

and your good to go

Lol thanks man I no how to do scan lines but thanks all the same..
I did take your pattern though.. looks better than the one I was using :D thanks

I figured that 3 x 3 is better than my original use of 5x5

I use a 1x3 for straight lines and a 3x3 for slanted

yyeeeeaaaap :), I rarely use straight lines anymore
