PS2 Parental Controls

Alright, I can NEVER watch any good DVD's here in my room, because I don't have a DVD player, and my PS2, which my mom bought off of ebay, only plays a select few DVD's. This is bad. This is bad because I can't get any "attention" when trying to watch a movie because I have to watch it in the living room. It'd just be nice for once to be able to fuck the shit out of my girlfriend, and watch a movie at the same time, in my room. So, if anyone knows any way to erase the parental control code or some way to bypass it, PLEASE fucking help me. Thanks.

EDIT: Alright, I got the damn thing unlocked, by pressing select at the enter code screen and entering 7444, thanks to some research.... That deleted the old pw. It made me create a new one, and I don't want that fucking thing on there... How do I turn it off all together.

So there is a parental lock on your PS2 which only allows certain DVD's to play?

I don't think you can turn it off, but just make it all 0s so it just takes a few times of pressing x before the movie starts.

There was, but I found out how to delete it, so I did, and now it just makes me hit 0000 every time before I play a dvd. The PS2 Parental Control has settings for dvd's, like, depending on their rating??? I don't know, but I somewhat have it fixed, but it's awfully gay I can't turn it off.

Yeah, that's what I ended up doing.

While were on this topic, does anyone know why a DVD would just not play at all?

Like I'll put the DVD in and it'll say "Reading disc" for like 2 seconds, then it just stops reading the disc. Like it doesnt even recognize it.. Some DVDs work, but others dont, and I dont get it.

...I watched 40 Year Old Virgin on it a few weeks ago, and when my friends and I tried to watch it this weekend, it wouldnt even read it.

You probably burnt the lens? I don't know. Does it still play games? You can send it to SONY for a small price.

It still plays games, but it takes forever for the little golden disk to come up on the browser so you can play..

I've only cleaned it once in the 3 or 4 years I've had it though...Might that be the problem?

you can buy an actual cleaning kit I think.. usually at electronic stores... you could always go there and ask too.
