Well fuck. When Hollywood isn't remaking american horror films, they're remaking Japanese horror films!Seriously...The Ring...The Grudge...and now Pulse!
Pulse was originally a Japanese thriller that came out in 2001. Basically, it was about these teenagers who contact the dead through the internet. I saw it in the theater a few months back and it fucking sucked dick.
Now they've remade it, and the only thing it's got going for it is motherfuckin Veronica Mars. If we lived in a world without conseqences I'd daterape the fuck out of her!

Looks like it could be good. I dunno about the plot, but looks really well shot, I loved the trailer.

You can instantly tell a film is going to be crap when it's an American remake. I'm so glad they didn't touch Battle Royale.

Now you've said it I wouldn't be surprised if someone does. It would be risky, but a remake of that could be awesome. But maybe not with American actors, and someone properly hot as that psycho/sex/penis-chopper-offer/girl.

I wanna see a much more intense fucked up American version...
Maybe not so similar that it detracts from the original goodness.. but something with the same basic plot because its everyones favourite hypothetical question made into a film.

No it wouldn't. American remakes don't have the emotion, build up and atmosphere the originals have. They just chuck CG at it in hope it looks appealing.
The sequal was pretty poor, nothing will beat the original BR.

An American BR would defeat the whole purpose. If you've read the book, the BR Program was set up by a Japanese dictatorship whose main goal was to defeat American Imperialism. How can you have Americans fighting in a country that despises American Imperialism?
Besides, I agree that Hollywood would butcher Battle Royale.
And yes, the sequal was piss-poor. Gaping plot-holes, no character development, acting that could've been done better by a table. Urgh.

I got the one from the tutorial BR film with the cute Japanese girl. The bit I have is the bit where she goes "Don't touch the necklaces or....BOOM!".

Yeah, its not that we wont take it, its that they wont give it to us haha. I think because they want a theatrical release, and no distributor could pull that off because the US isnt cool with movies depicting violence against minors.
