Ok, I decided to get the torrent shiz. I downloaded utorrent, and got a movie or 2 downloading, but it's going slow as fuck. Is this just how it is? Or is there a better program or something?

Most of them do that. The more seeds, the faster it'll go.

test your settings with the openoffice torrent. if it still goes slow, its in your fault.

do you have a router on your internet line? if so you may have a nat error and thus be unconnectable...

nat error = working but slow
dial up = working but slow
redneck in TN = not working and very slow
but if he has broadband and a router and his torrents are slow then its brobbaly a nat error and he is not :connectable" to most other users. he should tyr tuening the power off to his router then turning it back on.... for a start

wow...I cant believe im actually going to say this but...
Touche'edit** part of the problem could be he is using UTorrent tho...Azureus nikka...is the only way to go...

utorrent has a speed tester and a port tester... use it.
Alot of people have probs... try dbl clicking on the torrent and then change the MAX UPLOAD RATE from "0" to "15" and MAX UPLOAD SLOTS from " " to "5"
Shouldspeed up within 10mins
Also look at how many seeds it has! If its bellow 3 it will be slow... tahts how many people have the WHOLE movie/file and peers is how many people are downloading... and if everyone is not letting out any kbs then it will takeages.
