I just got a firewire card today and set it up, but when I go to capture it says not reading ,im just testing it so im useing windows movie maker
could anyone help me please ??

Is it on VCR mode?
Is the firewire card installed properly?
Is the wire in all the way?

Maybe you didn't push the firewire card far enough into the slot.
Otherwise try restarting your computer, that might fix it.

I actaully have the same sort of problem.... My firewire worked great until I got my new cam.. now it takes a while to get it work... sometimes it doesnt read sometimes it does... sometimes I have to push it in hard. Anybody know if I need a new firewire or is it the computer or camera?

im having a simalar probleam with my sony handycam except im just using a usb thing for now, usualy it the computer dings when I connect it and a little thing pops up at the bottom... any sugestions

Don't use USB Matt. Buy a firewire, the quality will be a shitload better.

thats what happened with me when is tried usb then I got firewire and it worked fine
so if I was you get a firewire cable

well im getting a fire wire somtime this week so yeah I guess I will just wait till then
