Attacks on Ebaumsworld

For the last 36-48 hours, ebaumsworld.com has been the victim of a global cyber-terrorism attack allegedly conducted by an alliance of webmasters and their followers who disagree with our company's editorial process (See FAQ below). The attack has come in several forms including:
-a Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attack;
-Malicious attempts at gaining access to restricted parts of the site;
-Spamming our forum and chat rooms;
-Hacking into admin restricted accounts;

There have also been numerous personal threats made against individual eBaum's World staff members. Most recently, our physical Corporate Headquarters building was vandalized so we've been forced to hire on-site security personnel. We have also opened the dialogue with our local police cyber-crime unit which works very closely with the FBI in matters like this.

We have been working diligently day and night to reduce any ill effect these attacks may have on our users, but you may experience some technical problems or annoyances while you view the site until we finish the ongoing criminal investigation. Please bear with us during this time and rest assured we will be back at 100% very soon.

We want to thank all the people who have helped us through these last few days, especially the other websites and forums that contributed what they could, you know who you are.

I heard about this in IRC last week sometime. Never knew it woul dwork though. But I bet its got them alot more hits and interest so it will prob work out as a good thing.

But I do think they suck

They will get around it some how. There are alot of good scripts about now. I used to help out on a forum that was ddosed loads and thet got around it. Shame there gone now though

You can never really fully stop a DDoS saturating a line, scripts are okay to stop any damaging packets from reaching the server but when a line is being pinged by hundreds of PCs, it will always saturate the lines as long as the server is responding to pings, which it needs to for the site to function then it is always susceptible. They may implement a hardware solution, but even this isn't perfect.

everyone on that site is feministic anyhow, I remember how they reacted towards durans video. all trying to boycott the activity happening in the video like they have some high moral standards over something they can't do about but laugh.
