Difficult?

Would Vegas 6 be too difficult for me or is it worth my time? I have used Pinnacle 9 and 10, and am currently using Photoshop Premiere Pro 1.5.

easier than adobe premeire, a bit harder than pinnacle 9 or 10.

Can do the same shit as adobe though. And way more than pinnacle.

I love Vegas.

If you've mastered Studio definetly get it, you'll easily beable to pick it up within a few hours, tops.

When I first tryed and looked at Vegas I didnt like it, just seemed a big change from Studio, but stick with it, its pretty easy really, Studio's friendly layout is the only thing that put me off Vegas.
Definetly go with it and get used to it. Plus with Vegas you wont need to buy any of the extra effects, theres a load.

Although keep studio, its really good for making titles.

It kicks ALOT more ass than pinnacle. Pinnacle has like baby-shit titles compared to what you can do with vegas.

(it's no apple motion though!)

I tried it and really didn't like it. It just seemed too fiddly compared to prem pro 1.5 which I'm used to. Some nice effects and transitions though.

Vegas is a lot easier than Premiere I think. It takes 5 min to do something it'd take 15 min to do in Premiere.

Yeah, Pinnacle was nothing. But Premiere is getting on my nerves and everyone talks about Vegas so I will give it a shot. Thanks.

Just seemed like too much hassle to do simple tasks like cut clips whereas you can do it with one tool and one click in premiere. I dunno maybe if I really tired at it I would get the hang of it but I'll stick to what I know.

Lol, nah I can do them, just by using the "generated media" option for creating them, haha.
Is there a better way? I must know if so!
But I still think you can create some good titles with Pinnacle, although centering it perfectly is a bitch.

to cut a clip in vegas, you push "s". To cut it from the time line, you hit "delete".

My problem with Vegas is that it is way too different than any other editing package. My skills in Final Cut transferred straight to Avid and Premiere Pro, but Vegas had to be different. I didn't want to re-learn everything.

Well I used to just make them in photoshop, save as a .psd, and drag them on the time line. That way you can make the title do WHAT EVER you want.

But the media generator works greate for me! ONce it's created, you can basically do anything to it that you want, so formatting the text IN the media generator is something I keep to a minimum.

Why don't you like the media generator in Sony thouhg? the options for the text are limitless!

No, but I can see how vegas is "different". But it's just so damn easy and fast once you get the hang of it. that's why I dig it. I'm lazy!

Does Vegas even have a way to log tapes?

Just seems a bit basic, really, well its just the same as Studios, but just doesnt have that same feel about it. You can get some really cool looking text though in Vegas, looks like stuff kids would like, but if you just lower the text size it looks good!

It is basic. You make the text look good with effects and key frames!

I use vegas 6.0, its allright I suppose, nothing spectacular. Best one I've used though.
