hey, my new comp has a 250 did SATA HD, and I went out and picked up on break today, and 160 gig ATA hd, and it looks like those 2 don't mix.
Comments suggestions?

Does your motherboard have an ATA socket? If so, then you need a standard IDE cable.

SATA is newer, but I think you can put them both in...

I couldn't find an ATA socket. I took it back. I was gunna pick up a SATA, but I got x-files DVD's and the first season of the show "Clarissa Exlains It All".

I think his computer probably has ATA-133 port, but if he has two optical drives, that takes up both channels on it, and his hard drive ports are all Serial ATA
