Info

Ok, so Derren Brown is a well known British psychologist/hypnotist who uses body language and subliminal messages to 'read minds' or generally fuck with people. I enjoy every single one of his programmes. Some of you may have seen the one where the man goes into the pub, plays the arcade game then goes into a trance, hes taken into a mock-up of the game n is made to believe he's trapped there.

Well tonight he did a programme where 4 office workers, with no previous criminal records, were invited on what they thought was a team-building seminar. However, secretly he was all the time influencing them to commit an armed robbery. He never mentioned that he wanted them to do it, he never told them anything directly, but instead did everything in a subliminal way. At the start of the conference he gave them each a toy replica handgun to explore their inner child.

Basically at the end they all individually walking down a london street, believing they were going to a catch up meeting with Brown to see how they'd progressed at work since the show. They didn't know they were being filmed, and had been told to bring the guns with them to give them back. They walked past a bank delivery van where a guard was taking out two canisters of what looked like cash. 3 out of 4 candidates threatened the guard and stole the money. They were later caught. It was amazing.

Tell me someone watched it!

I watched it, pretty boring at first but it picked up and 3 out of the four did it. It was very clever, I love david Blaine, I mean Darren Brown.

Yeah, I didn't see that one. I did see the arcade one where they re-created the video game. That was just badass, I would have shit my pants and literally killed people though. Sometimes, I think fucking with people's minds isn't such a good idea. Everyone thinks differently you know, and you may fuck with the wrong guy (like me, for instance) someone who couldn't handle it, and then shit would go horribly wrong. It hasn't happened yet though, so I hope he keeps it up.

Yeah I was thinking that halfway through, but at the end it was explained that each person was 'de-programmed' afterwards for intensive periods. Plus to go on these things you have to sign all sorts of waivers.

De-programming can only go so far. You don't have something traumatic like that happen to your brain and then everything just goes back to normal. With that being said, get me them waivers! I'm on board. I want to be able to kill real imagined zombies without actually taking any risk! It's like being in Land of the Dead, only instead of shitty actors and a horrible storyline, there's you.

Hahaha damn right I am a "professional psychologist". Is there a such thing as an amateur pyschologist? I never knew psychologists came in a non-professional order. The PPL, Professional Psychologist League.

yeah everything can be staged... and most people think everything that is filmed is staged so you end up not beliving anything anymore :P

Maybe maybe not.... But I think it would have been found out be now with all the media

It wouldn't be staged...sorry but I really don't see the point in staging it. It would have leaked by now, and most of his stuff isn't like a magic trick it's just showing what people are like in situations.

I agree. A friend of my dad's was on stage with him at one of his shows early in his career and said he's absolutely incredible. I believe he can do it, he doesn't need actors.

That's crap, like I said, it's a pointless thing to stage, you would surely do more than that if you were staging it, make it a whole lot more unbelievable?!

My mate went to one of his live shows and he threw a toy into the crowd then got that person to throw it to someone else and stuff to pick the people he was going to have come up, that sort of thing can't be guarenteed I guess...

I think you're talking out your arse. In fact, I believe that it is YOU who is in fact a staged member, merely an actor playing the part of a stubbon retard. You can't catch me out!

Dude some people are too cynical and paranoid and try to be a smartass too much. Seriously, the effort of paying 9 actors to spend pretty much all screen time of a programme that I didn't even hear about until today? It wasn't really publicised that much. It could've been a flop. Nah, don't make sense.

I saw this and thought it was absoloutly great. He is a very clever man, what I like most about him is unlike other bullshit magicians/hypnotists or whatever, he doesnt claim to have special powers, actually he admits he doesn't, he jsut know very well how to put across sumbliminal messages and use suggestive talking very discretly. All his stuff is great.

Maybe Derren Brown could use subliminal messaging to make you use adequate punctuation, you moron. Stop trying to be a smartass and accept that the big bad psychologist isn't trying to cheat you.

Yeah man I saw it. He is the only guy I believe can actually fuck you over without all this magic bullshit.

Did you see the one that showed you why he is banned from all the racetracks in Britain or someshit? Cause he could pick a ticket off the floor and make the person behind the counter believe he has won. And also how he counts cards in his head. Amazing...
