Camera Help?

OK.. so we have a decently new camera.. its a JVC mini-dv.. its adecent little thing and we havent done much filming with it.. but Im bored out of my mind and I feel like uploading some stuff and trying to edit a little bit.. dont have a firewire or fire wire card yet.. but it came with a USB... I have everything plugged up as far as I can tell correctly.. but nothing is happening.. any help would be greatly appreciated guys... and or girls... had to keep the whole equal rights thing going..

You obviusly havent connected everything correctly since nothing is happening Or what prog do you use for it?

But really: dont bother to capture it through USB, the quality looks like 512kb wmv. And thats shit to edit and no body will watch it.
