canon mv83 help!

ok it's my birthday today, and I just got a Canon MV830. Ive got it all connected to my computer, but it will only find it when its set as CARD. It wont let me transfer form the tape only the memory card?

Anyone know how to fix this problem?

Use a firewire.

yer, plan B was to go and get a firewire card and cable
