New Rule

Something was brought to my attention... No more bumping topics that are over a month old. These topics can only be bumped if it is absolutely neccessary, it is up to the admods to decide what is neccessary and first offenses will be banned for around a week. Hopefully we wont have to deal with second offenders.

what's wrong with bringing back an old topic?

because if it went a month without a post.. then it died for a reason.

People don-t like to see old shit dragged up I guess.

I suppose but itisn't killing anybody or takin up memory or anything along those lines just a thought that's all

I emphasized this rule because the recent bumping of old topics were with response such as "this doesnt work"........ Things that didnt need to be stated and were the obvious reasons of why the topic was dead...

I think you should be allowed to bump a topic if you have something useful and relavent to add. But I don't care either way.

imho : although this isn't neccesarily a bad rule, i don't think this forum is popular or busy enough to start talking about 'code of conduct' type stuff quite yet.

and anyway, whats wrong with adding a possible new dimension or opinion to an existing topic? That's what message boards are about and in a still developing board such as HGF, the more new opinions and content, the better.

Bumping should be allowed, and incouraged. It keeps similar information all in one viewable topic, rather than scattered throughout the site.

The only reason anyone would want bumping banned, would be so they could see their little site get bigger. Don't worry about this, as a forum does not need to be huge to be good.

I think its a better idea to forget size, and focus on quality. I, personaly would want to see one topic on 'what camera you use', 'your favorite jackass stunt', rather than a new one made every month. Focussing on 'CKY forums' for example, the amount of new topics is rediculous. Nobody even bothers to look at them, so you get thousands of, 'do you love BAM?' threads, literaly.

I'm sure 'tomilious' and others will agree.

I posted this rule in reference to a topic about a clip being released where the link was broken, around 2 months later someone comes around and says "This doesnt work"...
