Challenging RIPOFF

We need some homegrown comp here in Finland, like both teams make clip about same subject and then homegrownforums poll decides winner. it could be skit, stunt or whatever, starting points should be same. like do a zombie skit, and which team comes up with better clip wins. I have also talked with Dudesons Jukalle about six hour scavenger hunt, they were interested, but were busy whole summer with filming duudsoni elämää, if that would work out some day would you be up for it?

If you want to do a skit comp Im sure muppets would do it though cant really be a time limit cos we are well busy at mo plus we dont live in Finland, does that matter?

Yeah no time limit, im not busy just lazy. It doesnt matter that you guys dont live in finland just thought I could challenge Benckas team. Ok rules would be: own styled clip about same idea, poll at homegrownforums would decide winner. So what kind of clip?

I liked idea of zombie skit maybe or like halloween something scary so when everyone watches it theyll shit their pants

Why don't't we make it two? . It's just that we're really busy right now, since one of our guys is in the army, and only comes home on the weekends, one is always at school so it actually leaves just me and another guy from our group who are always up for filming. We can find some substitutions, but then there is all this editing we should do for the movie and right now I'm trying to get our new webpage finished. But, I don't't know, we might be able to squeeze something out, if we just find the time to do it.

You mentioned that you had talked to Jukka from Duudsonit about a 6 hour scavenger hunt. How realistic do you think that something like this would be? Did the Dudesons sound enthusiastic about this? I think that's an excellent idea, if anything like this would be pulled by Dudesons (and even better if our groups could participate).

So what exactly are we ment to film? Just a horror skit of some sort?!

I think he ment it to be a competition between the two Finnish groups here, but since the Muppets joined it too, I guess you can too.. And there is no task yet, this thread is just for planning and discussing about a possible comp I guess.

Yeah be constuctive some rules and stuff... I think it would be good to just let content be creative so, just sort of horror skit is fine by me, but if somebody has ideas post them.

Yeah talked with Jukka about scavenger hunt, first he was interested and told me to call back, but then it was like they hadnt time and.... don't't know if they were really interested (I think we should had something to backup our planning, it was kind of sketchy). But if I try to make it happen, you would be in? Then it would be three teams, you, me and them.

When you starting then? I think you need more planning on this aswell for it to work but good idea.

Well were just gonna make short halloween skit when we find the time-not bothered with the whole whos better thing, though obviously little bit of compitition is a laugh. I guess we kinda do need a time limit but obviously not too soon, and possibly a logo?

Heh, I don't't know Jukka well, im kind of stalker... no, I talked with him at couple of shows they did and... I may seem to be just another annoying fan and its kind of unrealistic to get it done because they have lotts stuff going on and If they could make time, would they have strngth. And my group is also busy... army is a bitch.

I can't wait to watch these. I bet they'll be great.

We were out last night trying to film something that could be called horror. Since it was Halloween, we went trick-or-treating (which by the way is really rare in Finland, so we knew that people probably wouldn't understand our prank).

If you're thinking that we went out in some cute Halloween costumes trying to get some candy, you're dead wrong. The thing was to make a scene as tasteless as possible on peoples porches. We were two guys who were dressed all in black, with those old school goaliemasks (pretty much like Michael Myers in the Halloween movies), and then we had a third guy filming it all.

So we went to the first house, and when an elderly man opened the door, Fille from our group screamed "trick or treat" and stabbed me in the stomache with a knife (not a sharp one though). And I spit out a mouthful of fake blood on his porch. He locked the door in a split second and went to a window and we heard him say something similar to "go away". Well this reaction wasn't quite what we expected so we thought that we would do it again to someone else.

When we were going to the next house we saw a police car passing us by slowly. What we didn't know, was that the elderly man had called the emergency line and got the cops on our tail. We didn't know either that the cops were making an ambush to catch us while we were doing it again. Now the next house we went to was perfect. We did the same scene again, but twice as dramatically. I was spitting blood everywhere on his white concrete porch. After a while we thought we had a wrap and we left the guy wondering what the fuck just happened. So we left the driveway and all of a sudden a huge guy comes running thru a fence of bushes commanding us to halt. The natural reaction to something like this is running away, right, but the cops had surrounded us and there we were trying to be as stupid as possible, explaning to them that it was halloween, and that we just wanted to lighten up people's saturday nights. After a while they let us go with a warning though.

What I learnt from this is that trick or treating doesn't work in Finland. Oh and to make things even worse, the footage looked horrible on video since it was so dark..

Bencka, thats sounds so good. Did you catch any of police action on tape? You didnt use nightvision? Thats boger. I know the feeling: cameraman have used too much zoom, didnt turn nightshot on or wasnt even there. And all hidden camera stuff is so lame without mic or at least most stuff isnt as good as it could be because you cant hear whats going on. So are we going to see the footage or are you going to film sumthin else`? And when new Ripoff site is up, youve talked about it like months.

hahah I know I've been talking about it forever. It's 100 % done for my part (I did all the designing and shit on dreamweaver) but this guy from our group who is supposed to do the .com registration is slacking like shit. It really is supposed to be done this week, but I can't promise you anything.

That halloween shit was really terrible on camera, but we're gonna do it again sometime. Probably when it's still light outside though. The idea is too good to waste.
