Homegrown forum DVD

Information about the project:

The HGF DVD will be a project consisting of several homegrown groups mixed together. This means a sort of "The best of" DVD. The best stunts, skating, blading, pranks, skits or whatever will be mixed in to one DVD. This won't be a project that I will receive (lots of?) money for considering all the things I need to produce it, and the time making it will be a small thing of what I will actually get back from it that's why I want to talk about the following rules:

Submitting your footage for the DVD:
- ..can be done by sending me a miniDV tape or by uploading the AVI files in very high quality. If you don't have the resources to send a tape or upload files to your own server, contact either me or Gazaa and we'll set you up an ftp account so you can upload whatever you need to.
- ..doesn't mean you will get money for it. What we are trying to create is a compilation of the best things from the best homegrown groups to create something nice. I will do my best to make it a great compilation trying to let every homegrown look as cool as they are. If you think I will gain tons of money from this you're wrong. It will probably cost me more than I'd gain from it.
- ..doesn't mean I will own rights over your footage. Hell no. It will only be used for the DVD or a promo clip and that's it.

If you have more questions please post them here and we will answer as soon as possible.

Also, if you have suggestions for bands we could use to put behind the clips for the DVD, post them here as well.

If you want to join the project fill in the following things please:

- Group/ Band Name:
For Filmers:
- Ammount of good footage: low/ mid/ high
- Kind: stunts/ pranks/ skits (or a combination)
- Upload: Yes/ No (say No, if you need an account to upload your AVI's, we'll PM you and make an account for you).

For bands:
- Music Type: Rock/ Punk/ Hip Hop etc..
- Number of songs:
- Upload: Yes/ No (say No, if you need an account to upload your AVI's, we'll PM you and make an account for you).

Sounds great. So if we send a .avi should we send each individual clip or all in one .avi.

Or is a group of people going to decide what they want from each group?

haha i haven't seen squeak in awhile.. he works the week.. i mainly go on the weekends.

I have always thought that a compilation would be great. I'll ask my group first and then I might send you some of our footage from our vaults, just as long as I know for sure that it's going to be good DVD. If there will be "stunts" where people shove random objects up their asses, that some groups like to do, there's no way I'm going to contribute. But keep on working on this idea.

hows about a dvd-r with the footage ?

I've got loadza stuff I can submit for the dvd, but I won't be able to let you have anything until after we've finished our dvd, which won't be until some time next year.

The band I talked about in another forum, Idesyne, their well good. Have a listen to them on purevolume.com, if you think their appropriate I could ask them if they'd let you use their music.

For groups trying to make money, you can buy like 50 dvds off of kuffi for like $3 a piece if it costs like $2.50 for him to make and then sell them around where you live for like $5 sell them all and you made $100. Try converting that into Euros cuz I dont know...

How are we gonna get this footage to you? I'm looking at some clips in AVI format I've captured with Adobe Premier...This clip is 18 seconds long and is 66MB and thats gonna take a long time to send anywhere. Would it work if you burned it onto a CD and sent it to you?

Emm... it would be nice if you guys used some of my bands music in the dvd ... id like to see that .. let me now how you would like to receive the music .. or just go to the web site ... located at http://dontwakedad.8m.com

Yeah man I checked the songs on the site and I think I could use some of them.. every piece of music can be submitted.. you never know what u're going to use it for eventually.

Do you happen to have the songs in MP3? I can always convert them to MP3's myself but I don't know if that'd be a good idea.

I'll gladly contribute to this cause, I'mma buy a digital8 camera (yeah I'm HI8 ok?!), and set up a firewire connection for decent quality video, burn the data to a dvdr, and send it you. Next year =D.
