Lightsabers

Me and my bro did a little skit in my backyard where we have a lightsaber fight. SHould I do them in Photoshop 7 or After Effects 5.5?

photoshop takes forever, but its easy to do

I havent used after effects so i couldnt tell ya

Alamdv2 is perfect for it, very simple interface, however, its near impossible to find a crack for it

I've only heard of doing it in photoshop. Looks time consuming...

O yeah very long time your better off maybe just buying those toy sabbers that way when you hit someone you just add an efftet of like blood or something

I would like to have a real lightsaber.

with photoshop, for every second of footage, you have around 20-30 minutes of work

with alamdv2, for a second of footage, 2 minutes tops

Couldnt you just make a glowing beam and use it as a mask in premiere? Then just place it over whatever you used to have the sword fight, and use the key frames and transforms to make it move with it and shape to it? To me it sounds like it would work, but Ive never tried it, my schools film club did a star wars movie, Ill ask them how they did the lightsabres.

No MErcy's site is good enough. I don't really like the frame-by-frame bs. But I'll have to do it someday.
