button photoshop help

Does any one know how to program a button in adobe photoshop?

As ive made the word "play" a button in adobe encore, but when I hover over it, it shows in orange and I cant change it. It says I can edit in photoshop, but ive never used it before, and I can see an option to change it for shit!
