Well here I am again writing another review. This time ive got more time to write the latter half of it all thought out. anyway here goes.

At The Drive-In - Relationship Of Command
Edit- I need to find a working image :/

Well,I know they are a bit emo, but they are one of my favorite bands. You just get hooked on trying to find out the lyrics and the songs are damn catchy. i find myself listening to this album the most out of my collection of two of their albums (I also have In/Casino/Out) They also have two other bands made up with their band members (after ATDI broke up) called The Mars Volta and Sparta.

01. Arcarsenal (2:56)

A short song, but good nonetheless. Starts off with a bit of Cedric Billix(lead singer) breathing, then goes off into a kickass guitar riff and him singing his emo heart out. This is about as heavy as your going to get from them, which is not too heavy, but this song is pretty fast and strong to the likes of none of the other stuff on this album. I'm not quite sure what this one is about, like all of their other songs, and I can't really even dechiper this one. Weirdest lyric is when the bridge occurs and he sings "Have you... ever tasted skin?" Over again. Hmm. Anyway, the song is over and has now restarted so onto the next.

02. Pattern Against User 3:18

This song is more punkish. I love it though because they are so unique they can pull off progressive rock and punk easily. This song kind of reminds me of a really fast NOFX. Like, a lot faster. I'm not sure what this song is about either. Meh.

03. One Armed Scissor (4:22)

Fucking awesome song. Just so easy to listen to. Not really a fast song like the first two, this is the first one that is a bit toned down. It is still fast don;t get me wrong, just not like the other two. This was one of their singles i'm pretty sure, because I remember it being kind of famous. so anyway, not sure what this is about but it'll come to me sometime. Maybe.

04. Sleepwalk Capsules (3:27)

Another fast song. Especially Billix's singing. Holy shit. At times you think hes speaking gibberish, that's how fast he "sings" at the beginning. He doesn't really sing on this track though, more then say. But whatever, still great. The energy in this song is amazing, I would love to see this live. This song is so great, I just kind of drifted off and listened to it beofre I came to and rememberd i was writing a review. 05. Invalid Litter Dept. (6:06)

Great song, especially now that I know what it is. It's about this place in Mexico i'm pretty sure, where a lot of women were (and probably still are) murdered. And the Federales try to cover it up, like from this except, "And they made sure that the obituaries showed pictures of smoke stacks". That's pretty fucked, that even if you die, you get a picture of a smoke stack in your obituary. Another quote is in my sig.
[5/5]

06. Mannequin Republic (3:05)

This starts off really slow and progressive, then gets into a really fast beat. Very catchy song and i'm sure it has an important purpose too. I listen to this song constantly. It's also heavier then a lot of the ATDI songs. I looked over the lyrics and I inturpreted that the Dominican Republic or something is a giant wasteland because a lot of fucked things are going on over there. i'm probably way off, but that's me.
[4/5]

07. Enfilade (5:03)

Starts off with a phone call, then lots of weird progressive guitar sounds and stuff, then comes up with him singing. Even though the guitar and effects sound really cool, this is one of my least favorite song on the album. It's not really my thing listeneing to guitar sounds, unless i'm playing them.
[3/5]

08. Rolodex Propaganda (2:55)

Sounds like MSI produced this song. All technic stuff in the background. It's a meh song to me, I dont really like it much. Whatever.
[2/5]

09. Quarintined (5:27)

Starts off with LIGHTNING. Boo! Yeah... I suck. Anyway, i'm a fan of this song, because it's more progressive and has kind of a downbeat to it. It's an easy listener. Even though most of the song is the same, it's all good. A "chill out" track for ATDI.
[4/5]

10. Cosmonaut (3:25)

I fucking love this song. I hate to sound like a dumb groupie, but it's a "rock out" kind of song. Something you can jump around to. I wonder why these guys never got invited to the "Warped Tour" and Eminem did. Whatever. This song is just so sweet, I fucking love it.
[5/5]

11. Non-Zero Possibility (5:36)

Starts off dark kind of, like an opening to a scary movie. With the piano and everything. It kind of reminds me of Elton John in way how the music is played and written. The piano mostly. this is another "chill out" progressive song from them. Which I enjoy.
[4/5]

12. Catacombs (4:13)

The Ross Robinson version. This is the only one i've heard, I want to experience the normal version. Anyway, good guitar playing, innovative song. This is a perfect ending song too. One that makes oyu finish listeneing to it, then go, "Wow what a great ending. holy shit, i'm going to buy Vaya and In/Casino/Out now."(not really but it is a great ender)

Well, thats my review. The overall score is 6/5. Fucking great. As good as the Tool album.

I have to say, he introduced me to some pretty sweet metal bands. And second, ATDI isn't metal man. biggrin.gif

Yeah, if I was in a band I would love to sound like them, because they have one of the most unique styles ive ever heard. I can't perfectly classify them. and about Rolodex, I dunno it's just not one of my favorites even though Iggy Pop is awesome.

not all metal is bad, just the death metal where they just scream and hit everything on their bass and guitar and drums on no order. But a lot of metal is good, METALLICA

You mean grindcore. Everyone thinks eath metal is bands like Anal Cunt. Where they have no talent and just smack their guitars. Listen to "In Flames" or "At The Gates". They have one of them ost unique metal sounds ever.
