Well, I thought I would contribute and write a CD review for one of my favorite bands Tool. I bought this album about 2 months ago and i'm still listeneing to it frequently, like on bus rides to school and car trips. It doesn't get boring unless your totally not into this type of music. Anyway, I'll start.

Tool - AEnima
01. Stinkfist (5:11)
This song is cool as hell. Starts off with some classic Tool sounds, prog guitar sounds. Then it snaps to a little part with Maynard's voice distorted and he sings, then it kicks into the chorus. It all of a sudden gets hard (Well as hard as your gonna get with Tool) and it gets good. It splits back into the distorted thing in the verses which gets a bit tedious, but the good part is the chorus. Anyway, I can't quite decipher the lyrics, but from the video, It looks like a song about something dying one minute at a time, or falling apart. Something like that. Nothing real special about this song, i'm not sure why it was more popular then the track AEnima. Well thats basically it for this song.

02. Eulogy (8:29)
This song is basically just a progressive art type song. Where if you listen to it at first it sounds weird, but if you really listen to it, you can kind of absorb it. Not one of my favorites on the album, but you win some, you lose some.
[2/5]
03. H (6:07)
I like this song because it's catchy. Its that kind of song that gets stuck in your head if you listen to it. Its basically only the chorus that does that, but meh. It also sounds kind of tribal during the verses. The ambience is set for that with the bongo drums. But what do you expect?
[3/5]
04. Useful Idiot (0:38)
Short little thing. Not really worth reviewing. It's just static.
05. Forty Six & Two (6:04)
At first, I was expecting James Hetfield to come out and sing, it sounded so much like the opening to a Metallica song off "Load" to me. Anyway, besides that, the intro is a bit too long and gets kind of annoying, but I can put that aside. The rest of the song is pretty good. A hard song when your about 1 minute through, it starts to get a bit thrashy. I actually enjoy this song a lot.

06. Message To Harry Manback (1:04)
While These little speaking tracks may seem tedious to most, I think they are pretty cool, trying to interpret them. This one is a guy talking on the phone, I think leaving a message talking about fighting and killing stuff. To Harry Manback.
[3/5]
07. Hooker With A Penis (4:43)
I fucking love this song. Second favorite on the album. It just starts off with a cool riff, then goes into a hard thrashy song. Plus, it's about a transvestite. Who writes metaphors about transvestites? Only Maynard. i like the guitar playing on this one too, more complicated then the rest of the album, plus it sounds better too. I'm pretty sure this had a video and was more mainstream then it's counterparts, AEnima and Stinkfist. Best part about this song is the angriness and how its harder then the rest. Only problem is, it's shorter then the rest also.
[5/5]
08. Intermission (0:31)
I reminisce my times at the circus. Ah the days...
09. Jimmy (5:24)
This song is cool. I even like the intro. not sure what the song is about yet. because it's kind of hard to interpret Maynard. But whatever. I'll find out soon and make another thread. Puh.
[4/5]
10. Die Eeir Von Satan (2:51)
A weird prog thing. Its very very industrial too. Maynards brain with sounds at work here. I'm not even really gonna rate this, cause its just factory sounds with "Satan" talking in some weird language.
11. Pushit (9:55)
I'm pretty sure this was too long to be a single but im not sure. I think I remember a video. And it kinda sounds like the mainstream would enjoy it.Whatever, good song, very distorted though. But nevertheless a good song. Not much to say about it besides Maynard's A Genious.
[5/5]
12. Ceasaro Summability (1:26)
A baby screaming, then static. Kinda freaky. Then a bunch of sounds and stuff. Not rateable.
13. AEnima (6:39)
Oh good old AEnima. I love this song. I love the intro, I love the verse, I love the chorus, I love the lyrics. This was not their most popular single but it was their best. And I know what it means too. Nothing special, just how about how plastic L.A. is, and how he wants it all gone. He wants to see it all die and sink. Not the most innovative song plot, but he does it very well. I love the lyrics as I said before. Also, it switches around with the tune a lot, so that's good.
[6/5]
14. (-) Ions (4:00)
4 minutes of negative ion sounds. Goody.
15. Third Eye (15:47)
I forget whether this was a secret track or not, and I think it was. Because it's 15 minutes long. I have the Cd ripped onto my computer so I forget. anyway it's cool, like all Tool's secret tracks, because you get to hear some cool gutiar playing. Yeah. RAWK.
[5/5]
Overall: 6/5
Anyway, i'm done for now. But the best part is, I found mp3s for the album! Yay!
