im trying to put my footage on my pc, and whatever software I use the sound is coming out all choppy. I no its the cams fault because all the differenet softwares are doing the same thing. anyone no what could be the problem
I filmed with a sony cam (batt is dead) so am trans onto the pc with a cannon
(charger is broken so dont say charge it)
any ideas???

Could be your sound card drivers?????
If so find out what sound card you have then go to the manufactures website and get the latest driver, thts all I can suggest mate.

Could be because your not doing it off the camera you filmed with, but that's doubtful.

is it when you preview the video that the sound is all choppy or is it like that after you export

not the card drivers
its when I preview it before recording, and the same after its recorded on the pc...
just found out when I watch it on the actual cam (the cannon one) the sound is choppy, I think it has some thing to do with the fact I filmed it on a sony and now using a cannon :S

Just in case its the software, use Pinnacle PCTV Pro v. 5.9 to capture.
OR try a new wire to hook up the sound from the cam to the comp
OR get a new tape and see if thats the prob.

no no no and no.
Its not your software and its not your sound card.
Its because of 1 of 2 things, if not both.
1.) Its because your head is dirty. You need to buy a head cleaner. Your mini dv tape may also be dirty because you recorded on to it with a dirt head, in which case there isnt much you can do.
2.) Playing a tape in a camera that is different from the camera brand you recorded on to it with has always seemed to cause problems for me. Charge your sony, or find another sony, and then give it a try.
Once you clean your head...that should get rid of future problems, if not your current one.

well im thinking its a problem on the camcorder side too... didnt think of head tho
