sony handycams are the best.. get it. but I think you're paying too much for it, a cam like that would cost around 400/450 euro's here and well 400 pounds is 600 euros dude.
12 May 2005, 20:41 UTC#3
hmm okies, the cheapest ones are about £300, then they go up to about £400
12 May 2005, 20:48 UTC#5
cool, u have probably got the one I am getting, have u got any footage that I can see the quality of?
12 May 2005, 20:51 UTC#7
its k from what u guys have been saying I know now that this is the cam I will get. Its gonna kick ass
12 May 2005, 20:59 UTC#9
cool thanx man, I will look and enquire, do u have one? If so, would you be able to tell me whether they are easy to manage like I know sonys are?
12 May 2005, 21:29 UTC#10
Well Sony are known for there easy of use. But me myself have no probs.
I dont have one but I used to sell cams and other stuff. So I know my stuff.
But I dont think any cams are hard to use... and if anytthing Sony can be harder because some have touch screen and I have seen loads fuckup!
But if your looking for cheaper and good cams then JVC can be good for cheap... And I think can be better then Sony.
Anything with a Sony badge on will have a 30% extra charge on.... but that dont make it worth it.
There TVs suck ass and are made by Aiwa same as 90% of there stuff....
13 May 2005, 17:22 UTC#11
yer thanx, I will bear that in mind, but rememberthis is going to be my first proper camera, so I wont be needing any superior cameras that rule the earth, just something that is like a sony easy to use and yet produces high quality videos, somethign along those lines
13 May 2005, 17:27 UTC#12
Then dont get a sony.
Get a JVC if you want a good cam, easy to use, good lens, and cheaper. you will pay an extra 200 for a sony taht does the same.
13 May 2005, 17:36 UTC#13
ok, I will start looking now. cheers man, youve been a great help
13 May 2005, 17:45 UTC#14
everyhandy cam iv used never touches the sound and pic quality of my sony..if I was to get a 2nd cam...which I will ill be buying the same sony or a upgrade from it.
13 May 2005, 17:50 UTC#15
if your talking about the sony touch screen handcam nicco has it
13 May 2005, 17:59 UTC#16
hmm, okies, well im getting mixed opinions here, but the majority of you are saying that sony kicks ass, so doyle, where did u get the other impression from? (just wondering bcos I need to know)
13 May 2005, 18:01 UTC#17
The prob with sony is they dont use hardly anything that they make in there cams. 90% of the sony cams are all made by aiwa.
And Aiwa make alot of stuff for other companys like JVC... so really you can get the same things for cheaper.
In Which? it wasthe Panisonics that won in all types of the cam tests... apart from ease of use which Cannon won.
Sony has 3 cams in the tests and all came under top 5... apart from the list which had the most brake downs.
The name sony is like Nike and everything.... Well known... Pay more for the name.... but you can buy the same things cheaper.
13 May 2005, 18:02 UTC#18
the only thing I dont like about the sony is......... oh yeah the touch screen gets dirty from your fingers....bout it really...oh and it dont have a light on it but it has night shot mode.

13 May 2005, 19:30 UTC#20

13 May 2005, 19:34 UTC#21

hmm ok, but is that a handy cam like I am getting?

yer that would be cool, maybe a future thread; everyone puts info on their cam up and we compare sort of thing?
13 May 2005, 19:35 UTC#22

think yours in a upgrade but mostly all sony cams are around the same. and mine might even be older then the one you might get.
and no why of people putting in info, thats no test. you have to use the cameras in different types of light, sound test, everything..no way of doing it online as all the cameras would sound the same.
13 May 2005, 19:49 UTC#24
I was thing about getting
this.think its worth it?

yer true, I suppose it couldntwork online in that case, and plus it would be from peoples own opinions. Maybe some rich dude could do it all in the name of hgf one day....
and yer, thanx for the info, looks like I will probably get a sony handycam as my first cam, as it sounds quite good, and easy to use. Then if I need a better one like doyle was suggesting I could always get one in the future as a second cam.

Thats the model down from the one I amtalking about her. the one I might get is the 22 version, thats the 21.
