I downloaded on called kool movies soomething off download.com its prrity good

I searched cool movies on download.com and it came up with
ArcSoft VideoImpression

FlashMX can create and export buttons in .gif format I believe, however its not entirely begginer friendly. You'll need photoshop regardless, so aquire it.
