Okay...so here's the story. A few weeks ago I noticed a small piece of skin growing out beside the nail on my pinky finger of my left hand ( I don't know if anyone else gets these, but they're annoying) so I bit it and ripped it off. Unfortunately it began to bleed, but I was lazy, so I just let it bleed and didn't make any attempt to clean it or disinfect it. Several days go by and I notice it begginning to swell and become a deep red..I knew something was wrong, but being the lazy fuck I am, I again neglected it. I thought it was finally clearing up when I had an accident on the 1st of July and spilled almost a whole bottle of drain cleaner on my arms and hand, and needless to say, into my open wound. I washed off the chemical as quickly as I could and ended up with minimal chemical burns. The next day however, I woke up to find the skin around my wound to be cracked and a dull white. My fingernail had also begun to turn white. So several days went on, up until this morning, I look down and my fingernail is an offwhite greenish color and I can see the edge of it exposed from the skin drawing back. Upon further inspection I found that I can now lift up the corner of my nail and view my cuticle...(looks much like what was under Don Vitos toenail on one of the episodes of Viva La Bam) I tugged at it and found it to be quite painful. I am not sure what to do now, I guess the nail will just fall off eventually, but I am hoping that the infection will clear up.....I'll tape it I guess when I go to rip the nail off......it should hurt pretty bad....cheers External image not preserved — inspect source: http://homegrownforums.com/forums/html/emoticons/food-smiley-004.gif
