Are camcorders water resistant,
not under water but can they handle rain, on any of the camera lcd, casing area etc, or is there anywhere I should pretect so it doesnt get wet, or can they handle it anywhere, over the lens and stuff.
My camcorder is a sony mini DV, if that helps I don't know

Protect the whole thing as much as you can. I usually wrap it in a plastic bag so only the lens gets wet.

So your saying protect aswell as you can, but the odd few drops of rain are ok? and the lens can take a bit more of rain?

Yeah, if you can avoid water you should. Make sure no water gets inside the camera and you'll be fine. I'd try not to get any on the screen but a few drops shouldent cause any major damage. Just whipe it off and it'll be fine.
The lens can get wet cause it's just glass, just be careful when you whipe the water off that you dont scratch it.

Lots of water can fuck the cam up. Water and anything electrical is a shitty combination. They have things you can buy to put in your cam in for filming in the rain. Also...if you ever did wanna use your cam under water...you would need to get underwater housing for your cam. It can expensive though...sometimes they cost $2000.

the guy at the sony shop said if my mini dv camera gets one drop of moisture inside the camera it will ffuck up and die
