Yeh I just took a rough guess and rounded it off, but if we never recorded over footage we wud have much more than 50, tho I dont think were that far off tho

I have a huge dv tape shelf
it stores 50, but we have around 67 tapes, so the rest are stacked next to it

We used to film a lot since we were like 12. I can't prove it, but you guys should believe me, we used to have a shoebox full of old hi8 tapes and another box full of mini DVs. I can't prove it since I havent hung out with james (the one who owned TCV) for about 6 months or more.

Also I put all our old footage on an external hard drive, some prick knocked it off and the thing doesn't work now, so it's not really that important any more, but that's all our old footage gone completely.

For a year they were stashed at my girlfriends house. Now I just keep them in shoe boxes mostly...and then I put them in a fire-proof safe type thing. Here is a pic of them all...there's about a 150.

yeah I used to reuse my tapes alot back in the day to save money. I would upload them and then just tape over it. But years later...for one reason or another...the footage got deleted from computer...and now I really regret not just buying seperate tapes.
Mini Dv tapes arent really as expensive as they used to be. I believe you can get a 6 pack of TDK tapes for $20 at costco. Thats the best way to go. or ebay.
