PS2 or XBox

At the moment, i have a dreamcast. Its a cool console, but its getting a bit old, and no new games have been made for it in the last 4 years.

So, im gonna buy a new console this summer. This is either a PS2 or XBox.

What would you recomend and why?

Xbox, brilliant and has an incorporated hardrive. I am dissapointed with the quality of playstation 2's, but then again many people i know complain about sony products. They look awesome, but break easily.

Xbox hardware wise

i own 13 systems

i have both ps2 and xbox, and i perfer the xbox

I like PS2's games more but xbox has halo so either one can be fun at times...

I heard about them breaking easily. That is a big dissadvantage.

Do the discs break easily as well. Cos when i go round my friends, who has a ps2, and a 1/3 of games jsut don't work, and he takes care of his ps2. Do they have really crappy lasers or something?
