.avi want to change to media format for windows

We got alot of footage on .avi how can I get them to view on windows media and so I can work on them on WMM2???
please help!

.avi should work in wmm2. Why don't you capture it in wmm2?

Like lets see, I wanan watch them on Windows player before I edit them. As I wanna see what footage is what so I can change the clips name.

If you click them they don't play?

Try downloading the newest windows media player.

Do they not play at all, or do you get sound?

my wmm2 did play avi until I got a codec .... I got the codec but ever since I havt been able to play avi files on my comp

sounds like you need to reinstall media player kalle.
