if I capture my film onto my pc as a .MPG. What should I convert it to a .WMV or .AVI? What's better to edit? I hear people say they gotta change it to avi's. But why? Isnt WMV just as good? or should I convert it to AVI all the time?

AVI is uncompressed, just like WAV files are better to edit with.

You are best using avi, then compressing it using divx.

think you should use wmv, the quality isnt much worse, and its fast downloading and smaller files.
