I Use a adaptec VideoOh! thing where I plug my Sony Hi8 Video camera into it and it goes through USB to my PC using the software Sonic MyDVD. When I capture my video it saves it as a .MPG. I cannot open and edit that MPG in any program besides Arcsoft ShowBiz DVD. I don't understand why. If I import it in Pinnacle it's black with audio. Import it with Windows Movie Maker 2 it goes to audio and no video. I dont understand. Anyone know what I can try and do?

Convert the movie file?

Maybe get rid of the USB?
EDIT: more likely... dont capture with that gay prog, capture with Pinnacle or wmm, usb still sucks.

it wont let me capture with ANY other program than what it came with. Gives me errors like, CANNOT find device..Sonic MYDVD is the only one that works. but after its .MPG what can convert it to to make it open in any program. also, when I see peoples videos its like .mpg but mines .MPG. whys that? What prog should I use to convert..

Yeah man, if you're pc don't have firewire ports, you're going to have to by an interface for firewire and install that.
