I just downloaded 2 videos someone sent me from yousendit.com both in avi format

neither will play

in media player I get

Windows Media Player encountered an unknown error. This can occur when another program or operating system component encounters a problem but does not communicate the nature of the problem to the Player.

and in win amp it just flashes up and goes back down again

someone help I have to see those videos External image not preserved — inspect source: http://homegrownforums.com/html/emoticons/Copy of unsure.gif

do they not play full stop? they might be corrupted. if they play sound then its the codecs, but since they dont play at all, seems like they're corrupted

divx codec

if you can't get sound or picture then a doubt its your codecs, if it was divx then you would still get sound. do you get an error message when you try play the files?
