External Hdd

I have external WD 500gb harddrive. Formated as FAT32 . I´ve been using it for capturing footage Ive been editing. Now it suddenly seems to be "79,5gb free of 298gb" instead of "255gb free of 465gb" And when I open the drive, there is only one folder left that is empty. But it still shows that Ive used something like 210gb (which sounds about correct) so the files seem to be there. How could I access this files? Any ideas?

Oh, also it used to appear as "My passport" but now its just drive "J:"

Quick help would be very much appreciated.

Are you using a USB or Firewire? Do you have no other copies of the files so you can format and put them back on?

have u conntect it to another pc? or maybe a mac? sometimes they add extra hidden files or could of just screwed up your hard disk.

Its usb hdd(and ispowered through usb). I tried connection to other PC, didnt work. I also tried hdd tools built within windows and testdisk. That didnt help either.

And of course I didnt have backups, oh lol.
