Ive finally got my arse into gear and started editing my dvd and today I got the last of the camcorders to get footage from and its a harddrive camcorder so I took all the shit off it I wanted to use, but when I put the files into my editing program (pinnacle) its doesnt recognise the audio format and doesnt play.
so yeah any help?? the audio format is 5.1ch and the program is stupidly old about pinnacle 8-9 I think, I would buy the new one but my computer is a dinosaur so dont think it would work, and I wanna get this edited quickly before Xmas so dont really want the hassle of learning another program so would prefer to somehow make it work in pinnacle.

well after hours of looking my pinnacle program is so shit that ive decided I need a new program an because my computer is so shit wont take a better program so I need a new computer so 2moro drastic action im buying new base unit.

Have to seperate the audio track to do that tho yeah??? would take forever quite a few clips im trying the route of finding a compatable editing software that I can run on my computer atm

Have you looked into newer versions of Pinnacle? There could be support for it? And those are still pretty much the same prog so it doesnt take time to get used to it. And there is plenty of plugins for Pinnacle as well, there could be help for it too. Have you tried googling "Pinnacle 5.1 support" or something similar?

aye thats pretty much exactly what I did, basically id have to get a newer one so atm im trying the trial version of the newest one and seeing if it works on my dinosaur computer, if so I will buy it if not will have to look at new comp

downloaded trial earlier and it worked so all good
