Basically I'm new to firewire, never used it before and know nothing about it other than it's better than USB so I got a firewire card, I captured stuff with a capture card before and the quality was never too good.

Has anybody got any tips on capturing with it like what program(s) to capture with and settings and stuff like that and also do I need more drivers or can I just plug it in my cam and set it to capture from the firewire connection like you do with USB?

Many thanks guys and hope you have a good Christmas!

What circa said, if you already set up your firewire connection. Easy as eating strawberries.

I already started watching videos longer than 2 seconds to see if that would help and you want me to format too now? :'-(

Yeah, but its a capturing issue. The captured clip has to bee over 2 seconds firewire will burn. If the fire starts, format is needed.
