extrating footage from a dvd

I have alot of footage stored on a dvd and I erased it from my hardrive by accident, dose anyone know how to extract footage from a dvd or better yet change it to an mpeg it has a stunt where I hung 8 full mountain dew cans from me 3 on each arm on on each ear, it was incredibly painfull and id rather not have to do it again so your help will be very much apreciated

hook your dvd player up to your cam, not sure what cable you use cause I cant remember.. might be the A.V. in on the cam and scart lead on the dvd player, play the dvd n press record on your cam... thats how I done it... you could also prolly download a did ripper n put it straight to your pc
